Our Story

49 Franklin Reception Hall

and Mystic Theater

Scot and Cindy Grassette met in 1985 and married in 1990. They have extensive experience in the service businesses which made them a perfect fit to open and operate 49 Franklin Reception Hall and Mystic Theater.

Cindy grew up working in her parents business Gotto's Sidewalk Café. She has 8 years of bartender experience at the Barnboard Lounge. She also waited table at the Madison Restaurant.

Scot has been doing magic and performing since the early eighties and has won several awards. He is a proud member and officer of the Society of American Magicians and provides magic classes for his students of the School of Magic and Showmanship. Scot is also a master electrician and skilled maintenance mechanic.

In 1998, together they started a Disc Jockey company "Grassette Entertainment" and traveled all over providing upbeat entertainment for 100's of weddings. They learned the good things to do, and the things to avoid when dealing with weddings and special events.

2003 they bought the former Methodist Church on Franklin St and renovated it top to bottom, maintaining it's historical integrity whenever possible. In 2010 they opened 49 Franklin for the 1980's Super Reunion.

You can trust Scot and Cindy to provide professional services for you!
